Sustainable Christmas 2018

Our Holiday decorations for 2018 were made from material featured at DEMO-DEMO, the pop-up sculpture exhibit of construction detritus WaCa produced in October. This material was re-used again, its third life!

Three wreaths were made from the dryer drum, electrical conduit, and braided insulation.

The tree was decorated with red electrical wire.

The table center-piece is my favorite, re-using broken masonry blocks arrayed with candles placed in the apertures. The white masonry reflected the golden candlelight, bringing the piece to life. The material from this piece was recycled once more to create another sculpture: Re3-Spect.
